'YOUR COUNTRY, MY PRIDE' (Collaborative)
The activity aims to inculcate altruism in the students and enable them to exhibit it through their actions and thoughts.
Description:
The students will be introduced to the countries chosen for study through interactive class discussions. They will then be divided into 2 groups to research and collect information about the geographical location,political history and symbols of national pride of the countries chosen for study. Similar exercise would be done by the students of the partner school. Students in India will, particularly ,study the significance of the national emblem and national anthem of Trinidad and students in Trinidad will do the same for India. The research work will be exchanged through photographs/ videos and evaluated through a quiz which will be conducted in both the schools. They will further compare the Independence Day celebration of both the countries and prepare collages of the same. This will definitely be a learning experience for the students of both the countries . They will further hold guided discussions in the class on the motto of the partner country and understand its significance and relevance.
A fusion of Calypso and Indian Classical music by the students of both the schools will further enhance the understanding and bond between both the countries.
Learning outcomes:
At the end of the activity, the students will be able to
Knowledge-gain information about the significance of national symbols (especially the national emblem) of countries chosen for study.
Skill-research and conduct a comparative study of the role played by the history and culture of countries in shaping their national symbols and policies.
Attitude-appreciate,respect and take pride in the heritage of every country in the world.
